Certification
A diamond certificate, also called a diamond grading report, is a report created by a trained gemologist who has analyzed the diamond under a microscope to determine its dimensions, clarity, cut, color, carat weight, finish, symmetry, and other characteristics that affect diamond value. You may think of it as a "blueprint" of your special stone.
DiamondsRight is dedicated to only carrying diamonds that are graded and evaluated under the highest standards. That's why all of the loose stones available at DiamondsRight are certified by either the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or the American Gem Society Laboratories (AGSL). Both of these respected organizations are recognized worldwide for their work with diamonds and noted for their strict standards for quality review. A certification from one of these institutions ensures that the diamond you purchase has been evaluated by a qualified third party for value purposes. The information contained in a certficate can be used to appraise and insure your diamond.
Appraisals
We at DiamondsRight also offer appraisals with all our diamonds and settings at no additional charge. An appraisal is a document stating the approximate retail replacement value of an item. It is calculated using current market data which reflects typical retail prices, in addition to the cut, color, clarity, and carat weight of the diamonds and the weight of the precious metal included in the piece. In the event that your piece is ever lost, stolen, or damaged, an appraisal ensures that your insurance company will give you an equal replacement of that item. The more detail contained in the appraisal, the better chance you have of receiving the exact replacement for that piece. Your insurance agency can rely on this appraisal to calculate a coverage rate for your diamond.
Our appraisals include:
- Description of the item purchased
- Photograph of the item
- Cut, color, clarity, and carat weight of any diamonds
- The approximate current replacement market value
